Making Instructional Text Materials Accessible

Learning Outcomes – Participants Will Learn:

1. Identify key concepts regarding document standards.
2. Describe the importance of creating document structure. 
3. Define what a PDF is and how it used.
4. Create an accessible and compliant PDF document.
5. Perform accessibility checks in Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.
6. Convert a Microsoft Office 2007 Word document to an accessible and compliant PDF document.

Recommended Prerequisites:

• Basic Understanding of a Windows (XP and later) Environment.

• Microsoft Office Word 2007 Training
• CSUN’s Accessible Technology Initiative:  How It May Involve Me and How It affects Individuals with Disabilities
